FAQ
Q. Is JBM a Church?
JBM is not a Church. To get the message that the Lord has designed JBM to do, it must be able to reach an audience this is not in one building only. JBM is designed to minister in different venues.
Q. Why the name Jaw Bone?
The name Jaw Bone comes from Judges 15:15. The day I was Ordained, Pastor Brian, (who tends to call me Samson) handed me my Ministerial License and said “Take this Jaw Bone and go beat up the enemy.” Jaw Bone,,, Samson, made sense to me.
Q Is JBM geared towards youth or adults?
This can be a hard sell. I have found so many in the Church are just not use to the idea of combining youth and Adults together to build relationships. Many have a hard time understanding JBMs purpose. Some see it as trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It’s no surprise I cater to youth a little more than adults. But the Ministry is designed for both . So far I have had only positive feedback from youth and adults.
Q What do you mean when you say the word change?
JBM does not want to end up as a Ministry that enjoyed the “good old days“. This can set up a discouraging mindset that if we change we will lose all control of our Ministry. But if we keep pressing in for what was awesome ten years ago then we’ll be ok. Some People fear change but JBM does not. For example, if JBM feels that it may need to add a little Christian Hip Hop to reach more people, then it will probably happen. I may not be a fan of the Hip Hop style, But at the end of the day JBM will do what must be done to get it’s message out.
Q. Do you choose people to help in your ministry based on appearance or character?
JBM is concerned firstly with direction from our Lord Jesus Christ. If something such as clothing, music lyrics, or one’s character are found questionable, they will be handled properly. JBM will not allow opportunity simply because someone wants opportunity. Prayer, seeking the Lord for Wisdom and discussions with each individual are priority. As A leader you must make the decisions that are going to forward the Kingdom of Christ. Not forward the kingdom of “no accountability.” If you enjoy wearing a suite and tie that's fine. If you enjoy wearing jeans and a Hoodie, be my guest.
Q Why bother with youth in the Church? Why not reach the unsaved?
JBM has no problem reaching to the unsaved. The concern however is that some of the Church are ignoring those within. The false thinking is that if a youth is sitting in Church then nothing is wrong with them. Sad fact is, many of them are as lost as the World. But some choose to look the other way. It is not good enough they are just “going to Heaven”. JBM wants to see them grow, mature, and lead in the body of Christ.
